Oversight Panel

The Congressional oversight panel has published a batch of approximately 70 images secured from the holdings of late found guilty sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

This represents the third such disclosure from a tranche of over 95,000 images the panel has acquired from Epstein's holdings. It contains photographs of excerpts from the literary work Lolita scrawled across a female's body, and redacted photos of women's international passports.

This release comes just hours before the 19th of December deadline for the DOJ to disclose each records connected to its investigation into Epstein.

"These new photos bring up more inquiries about exactly what the Justice Department has in its possession," stated the senior Democrat of the panel, Robert Garcia.

Contents in the Photos Disclosed

A number of the photos released on this week feature Epstein in discussion with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky inside a personal aircraft; Bill Gates seen beside a female whose face is obscured; Steve Bannon positioned at a desk across from Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.

These are the most recent wealthy, powerful figures to be pictured in Epstein property photographs published by the oversight panel - earlier published images also include US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as film director Woody Allen, ex- US Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Appearing in the photos is does not constitute proof of any wrongdoing, and a number of the photographed men have said they were in no way involved in Epstein's unlawful actions.

In a press release accompanying the photo disclosure, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee noted the Epstein estate did not provide explanatory details or timings for the photographs.

"Images were selected to furnish the public with transparency into a illustrative selection of the images acquired from the holdings, and to offer perspectives into Epstein's circle and his profoundly troubling actions," the statement says.

The disclosure also features a number of photographs of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita inscribed in black ink across several locations of a female's body, including her upper body, feet, hipbone, and spine. Lolita tells the story of a minor who was exploited by a middle-aged literature professor.

One excerpt from the book inscribed across a woman's chest reads, "Lolita's name: the end of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the roof of the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".

There are also a series of images of female passports and official papers from nations worldwide, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the details on the IDs, such as names and birth dates, is censored but the House Oversight Committee stated in a announcement that the passports pertain to "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his associates were involved with".

Another photo shows Epstein seated at a desk intimately flanked by three individuals whose faces have been obscured - a first has her palm on Epstein's chest under his garment, and another individual is leaning to examine a close-by laptop. Epstein can be seen to be assisting the third individual fasten a piece of jewelry.

Investigative Body

Another image disclosed is a image of text messages from an unnamed sender who claims they have been sent "some girls" and are asking for "$one thousand dollars per girl".

Image Release Occurs Before DOJ Deadline

The committee has thousands of photos in its custody from the Epstein property, which are "both graphic and mundane," its statement on recently noted.

The House Oversight Committee first issued a subpoena to the holdings of Epstein, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on accusations of sex trafficking, in August.

The photographs and documents the Epstein property provided to the body are separate from what is often referred to "Epstein-related records". Those are records in the Department of Justice's possession related to its separate inquiry into Epstein.

Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which the President made law last month, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to disclose its documents. The scope of what is included in the DOJ's files is unknown, and it's likely that much of the content will be heavily obscured, comparable to House Oversight Committee documents
