Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
