Ukrainian President Appeals to Trump to Broker Truce in Ukraine

Energy Recovery Work in Kyiv
Operations carried on on the weekend to recover electricity in the Ukrainian capital, after strikes by Moscow.
Power had been recovered to more than 800,000 residents by Saturday and the major private energy company announced the key work to restore power was finished though some outages remained.
Anti-Aircraft Actions and UAV Downings
Ukraine's anti-aircraft systems downed or disrupted fifty-four of 78 enemy drones deployed towards the country overnight, the aerial defense command said on the weekend.
Russia's defence ministry claimed it eliminated forty-two Ukrainian drones over the country's airspace.
Cuba Rejects Claims of Deploying Soldiers to the War
Havana on Saturday rejected American assertions it has deployed military personnel to engage in the conflict in Ukraine, while affirming the government "lack exact data about Cuban nationals" involved "independently" or "in the military forces of both sides".
The ministry in the capital announced 26 nationals had been sentenced to jail sentences ranging from 5 to 14 years for mercenary activity since the autumn of 2023 when information emerged of individuals being dispatched to the frontlines in Ukraine.
Surrender Initiative Project Reveals Data on Cuban National Involvement
The surrender initiative, a official Kyiv project that promotes adversaries to lay down arms, said in spring: "We have confirmed the identities and information of one thousand and twenty-eight Cuban nationals who entered into agreements with the Russian military in the past two years."
